Emerging figures

The ceramic forms shown in this portfolio page were developed over a 6 year period. Together they are Andrews largest collection of sculptural work to date. During this period Andrew utilised the drawing of life models, in combination with a collection of digital methods, to try and refine his creative and making process.

The over riding theme of the work was based around the intention to capture the qualities that we instinctively respond to in the human figure and the natural world. The resulting pieces are positioned somewhat elusively between the abstract, and the figurative, but have also retained some of Andrews studio ceramic sensitivities.

While the digital aspect of the work my not appear evident in these pieces, it is the utilisation of digital technology during this period that has laid the path for his current work with Pangolin Digital. The acquisition of a new portfolio of digital skills, further honed by working with established artists, is certain to yield a new and exciting body of work in the near future. Watch this space……
